Professional Services - BAE Systems Case Study

Background

Rubicon was involved with several projects for British Aerospace, now BAE Systems. These included a contact management system, an event management application and two intranets. For one of the projects Rubicon was employed as a sub-contractor for a major B2B advertising agency to compliment their existing team of designers with technical resource.

The Challenges

Rubicon had to co-ordinate with British Aerospace's existing technology partner and marketing agency to implement the new systems within BAE.

The solutions also had to be delivered within tight time constraints and to agreed budgets.

The Solutions

Rubicon used both thin and thick client technologies to implement the range of applications required for BAE. Each project's requirements were assessed and the implementation was delivered to meet the requirements. Rubicon Professional Services Team demonstrated a flexible approach to the delivery of the solutions.

Due to the nature of the client, the supplied systems had to meet security and operational requirements within a tightly controlled environment. The user of web browser technologies for two of the projects gave the advantage of a zero footprint install for the deployment of the new functionality.

Rubicon's consultants utilised the latest server and database technologies to integrate to the existing IT infrastructure to avoid data duplication and provide the most complete functionality possible.

Benefits

In one project BAE were able to replace all paper telephone directories, another aided the faster development of new products. The projects were all deployed to schedule and cost.
